About Us

Welcome to our website!

We are Paul and Aleta Brosseau and we relocated to Boiling Spring Lakes, NC in July of 2017.

We both were born and raised in Vermont and retired from the Department of Corrections. Paul was a supervisor working 24 years in the prison system, and Aleta was a Probation Officer for the State of Vermont and worked 13 years in that capacity. We have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren who still live up north (Maine and Vermont).

In the Fall of 2016, Paul came home from work and suggested that we buy a lathe. I had never heard of a wooden pen, so he proceeded to show me. One of Paul’s bosses had promised him a pen set, but this never happened due to the boss leaving his position. After much research Paul bought all the necessary equipment to get his shop set up. Paul is self-taught using a lathe, although he did dabble with woodworking in his high school years.

In 2018, Aleta got actively involved in the business by mixing up all the resin pieces you see. By doing this we can customize a creation for you. A lot of pen turners buy pre-bought blanks for their products.  We decided that we wanted control over all aspects of our business.  The mica powder we use for our products make each piece stunning!

All our items are one of a kind and can never be replicated.
